Frequently Asked Questions for
Scotty's Playhouse

What is our "sock policy"?

Socks must be worn by everyone. We ask that children and adults take their shoes off right inside the entrance and place belongings in a cubby under the bench seating. We have extra socks that can be borrowed if needed. Sizes infants- adults.

What is our policy concerning food, gum and drinks?

For children, gum is not allowed in Scotty's Playhouse. Preferably, food and drinks will be kept at a bistro table, however, food and drinks are allowed at red bench areas as well. No food or drink is allowed within the play structure.

Are birthday parties allowed during open play sessions?

No, we do not allow birthday parties during open play sessions because (1) it is not fair to those who follow policy by scheduling and paying for hosts, set-up and cleaning; (2) it is not fair to other patrons when tables and chairs are commandeered; (3) to some extent, it usually violates our "no drop-off" policy.

Are field trips or group visits allowed during open play sessions?

No, for reasons similar to those above. Field trips by schools, childcare centers, churches and the like should be scheduled through the Scotty’s Playhouse website. Open play sessions are for daycares with less than 8 children and more than 2 adults.

What are the age restrictions for playing on the play structure or on the tot lot?

The tot lot is for children 3 years and younger.
The play structure is for children 3-11 years old. We ask that adults not go into the structure unless someone gets stuck and needs help down.

How often is Scotty’s Playhouse cleaned?

The structure, tot lot, and restrooms are cleaned between each open play and party. Counters, doors, and seating are sanitized between each party. Floors are vacuumed and mopped daily.
